Ships are complex and compact structures requiring precise construction, installation, and coordination of all the systems needed to make them operate flawlessly in a sometimes harsh maritime environment. Shore Sheet Metal fabricates and installs mechanical and architectural systems such as fans, ductwork, galley systems, boiler stacks, and interior trim and frames. We work hand in hand with other trades and coordinate with the other trades to meet demanding production schedules.

HVAC Systems
Passenger comfort is the primary task of the ship’s HVAC system. HVAC systems intended for marine use require many welded joints to limit air loss and withstand the constant vibration of a ship in motion. The fans must be precisely sized and installed to effectively move the air through the complex ship structure, all while limiting noise.
Galley Systems
Passenger and crew satisfaction depends on an efficient and continuously operational galley. Effective and odorless ventilation from grease hoods and ovens is essential.
Boiler Stacks
Of course, passenger satisfaction requires that the ship make its destinations on time. The heat and exhaust from the engine must be effectively vented. Again, with minimal noise and odor sensed by the passengers.
Interior Fit Out
The interior of the ship must be stunning to complete the passenger experience. Many materials used in land-based construction are not suitable for marine use. Shore Sheet Metal works with the ship’s design staff to conceive of and fabricate metal alternatives for unsuitable materials.
